Beijing Gleckes Bio-engineering Technology Co. LTD. is located at No. 21, Shuiyuan Road, Miyun Economic Development Area of Beijing, adjacent to the Beijing-Chengde Expressway. This Company focuses on both of Bio-technique development and production. Its main business is the production and sale of Gleckes new food material r-aminobutyric acid (GABA), which is fermented by lactic acid bacteria Lactobacillus hilgardii. As a professional manufacturer and supplier of series of r-aminobutyric acid products, the Company owns an annual output of 100 tons of r-aminobutyric acid.

Beijing Gleckes Bio-engineering Technology Co. LTD. was awarded QS Production License by Beijing FDA in 2014. Food r-aminobutyric acid is made from L-sodium glutamate as raw material by fermentation technique of Lactobacillus hilgardii, which is essentially different from the chemical synthesized r-aminobutyric acid from the poisonous 2-pyrrolidinone as raw material. Meanwhile, food r-aminobutyric acid has significant differences from other kinds of r-aminobutyric acids such as those for feedstuff, et al, which are usually produced by fermentation of Escherichia coli or non-Lactobacillus hilgardii lactic acid bacteria, because these microorganism residues in r-aminobutyric acid products will have some negative effects on normal metabolism in human body.

Different countries have different standards of food r-aminobutyric acid. In China, the technique of food r-aminobutyric acid production must be based on No.12 Bulletin in 2009 by the Ministry of Health of the People's Republic of China on September 27, 2009. Food r-aminobutyric acid is made from L-sodium glutamate as raw material by fermentation technique of Lactobacillus hilgardii with the following processing steps, including pasteurization, cooling, activated carbon filtration, spray drying steps. According to Food Additives National Standard (GB2760-2014) of the Peoples Republic of China, r-aminobutyric acid can be used as food additive ingredients for synthesis of various essences and spices (see Product Knowledge in website).

Chemically synthesized r-aminobutyric acid, and other kinds of r-aminobutyric acids fermented by Escherichia coli or non-Lactobacillus hilgardii lactic acid bacteria are not available for food use as nutrition in China. Otherwise, if these non-edible r-aminobutyric acids are added in people food as nutrition, it is illegal.

We have the world first-class production technique of food r-aminobutyric acid, production equipments and analysis Instruments in this company. A novel analysis method to distinguish r-aminobutyric acid of chemical synthesis and r-aminobutyric acid of fermentation by lactic acid bacteria was developed by company researchers. This Company has a series of advanced bio-fermentation reactors, and biological engineering down-stream isolation and extraction equipment. The Company's Research and Development Center owns a variety of testing instruments, ensuring r-aminobutyric acid product quality. The first-class bio-engineering technology research and development working team with an advanced mechanical workshop provides professional r-aminobutyric acid production capacity.
